Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Adorable Contemporary “Couple” Covers

It’s another Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by  The Broke and the Bookish

Top Ten Tuesday at The Green Mockingbird

This week is a FREEBIE topic because Jamie is taking a little bit of a break. Because this is the last day of February, I’m going to continue with the Valentine’s/romance theme with book covers that feature adorable covers. Besides getting your attention, these covers hint at the setting, personalities of the characters, and often important scenes in the story. In my search through the shelves, I found that very few historical novels depict couples on the cover, so I decided to limit this post to contemporary only.

In no particular order:

  1. There are some good ones here! I love the cover on Jennifer Rodewald’s Christmas novella last year, Ordinary Snowflakes. I could stare at that cover for ages… Interesting observation about historical vs contemporary covers, too. I wonder why that is?

    • Thank you! I just looked up Jennifer’s cover – it’s so cute!

It seems that several historical covers feature ladies in period clothing/closeup of dress or the setting. I wonder if it’s to clearly convey that it is a historical story? Or, do guys just not want to don period clothes for a cover shoot? Haha!

  2. yes!! love love!! I agree with all of these! Meant to be Mine (Becky Wade) is another fave cover and book – as is A Twist of Faith by Pepper Basham.

  3. This made me smile SO MUCH!!! JTWYA is up there with books from some of my VERY FAVORITE authors!! WHAT??????? Courtney – I love you!
