Americana Four-Patch Quilt: Top Finished!

Hi, everyone!

I wanted to share this photo of a quilt top I just finished.

Americana Four-Patch Quilt

I designed this twin-size pattern and sewed it with my mom’s scraps from another quilt. It has taken me several months to complete, mostly because I have not worked on it since last fall. Last night, I decided to get it out – and I finished it in about 2 more hours. The top is now done, and it’s ready to send to the quilter’s! I really like the Americana-style color combination. It will make a nice throw for me – plus I’ll use it to “decorate” my bed for July 4th!

December Photo-a-Day Challenge 6. Shopping

December Photo Challenge, Day 6. Today’s theme is “shopping”. This time of year, I love to do some local shopping to support individuals. With great sites like Etsy, you can purchase from artists who handcraft great work all over the country. When you shop locally or even online with these people, you often receive great service. This little note was sweetly written on the outside of a package I ordered from Sarah’s Stitches. Little personal touches like this make me smile.

Sarah makes awesome sewn gifts. She takes custom orders, too! Check out her Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/SarahsStitches, or visit her Etsy shop at http://www.SarahsStitchesMI.etsy.com.

Will you be buying Christmas gifts from a local or online artist this year? Please share your best finds in the comments!
